Bacalhau à Gomes de Sá
A Porto classic: flaked salt cod baked with potatoes and onions in olive oil, topped with boiled eggs and black olives.

Ingredients (for 2)
- Salt cod, 400 g, soaked 24–48 h (or fresh cod)
- Potatoes, 600 g
- Onions, 2, sliced
- Garlic, 2 cloves
- Olive oil, 100 ml
- Eggs, 3, hard-boiled
- Black olives, a handful
- Parsley, chopped
Steps
- Poach the soaked cod in milk or water for 10 minutes, then flake it, removing skin and bones.
- Boil the potatoes in their skins until just tender, peel and slice thickly.
- Gently fry the onions and garlic in the olive oil until soft and golden.
- Layer potatoes, cod and onions (with their oil) in a dish; bake at 200°C for 15 minutes, then top with egg slices, olives and parsley.
Cook it together: One of you flakes the cod, the other handles potatoes and onions — assemble the layers together.
