Ukrainian half-moon dumplings filled with creamy mashed potato and onion, finished with butter and sour cream.

Ingredients (for 2)
- All-purpose flour, 300 g
- Warm water, 150 ml
- Egg, 1
- Oil, 1 tbsp
- Potatoes, 400 g, peeled
- Onion, 1, finely chopped
- Butter, 40 g
- Sour cream, to serve
Steps
- Mix the flour, water, egg, oil and a pinch of salt into a soft dough; rest it covered for 30 minutes.
- Boil and mash the potatoes; fry the onion in butter until golden and mix half of it into the mash.
- Roll the dough thin and cut 7 cm circles.
- Put a spoon of filling on each circle, fold into a half-moon and pinch the edges firmly.
- Boil in salted water until they float plus 2 minutes; toss with the rest of the onion butter and serve with sour cream.
Cook it together: One of you rolls and cuts the dough, the other fills and pinches β a proper assembly line.
