Ingredients (for 2)
- All-purpose flour, 250 g
- Sugar, 60 g
- Instant yeast, 2 tsp
- Warm water, 220 ml
- Nutmeg, pinch
- Salt, pinch
- Oil for deep frying
- Powdered sugar, optional
Steps
- Mix flour, sugar, yeast, nutmeg and salt; stir in the warm water to a thick, sticky batter.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes until doubled and bubbly.
- Heat oil to 170°C. Scoop small balls of batter with your hand or a spoon and drop them in.
- Fry, turning, until evenly golden; drain and dust with sugar if you like.
