Chimney cake: sweet yeast dough wrapped around a spit, baked until caramelized and rolled in cinnamon sugar.

Ingredients (for 2)
- All-purpose flour, 350 g
- Milk, 180 ml, lukewarm
- Instant yeast, 1 tsp
- Sugar, 40 g
- Egg yolks, 2
- Butter, 50 g, soft
- Butter, 40 g, melted, for brushing
- Sugar, 100 g, for coating
- Cinnamon, 2 tsp
- Walnuts, 30 g, finely chopped, optional
Steps
- Knead the flour, milk, yeast, sugar, yolks, soft butter and a pinch of salt into a smooth dough; let it rise for 45 minutes.
- Wrap foil around a rolling pin or a few clean cans and brush with butter.
- Roll the dough into a long rope and wind it around the form in a spiral, pressing to seal.
- Brush with melted butter, roll in the sugar and bake at 200°C for 20–25 minutes, turning once, until caramelized.
- Roll in cinnamon sugar and walnuts while hot, then slide it off the form.
Cook it together: One of you rolls the dough rope, the other winds it around the form — then pull it apart together while it's warm.
